How is a factory configuration confirmed?
The assessor checks whether the dial style, markers, printing, date layout and colour are consistent with the reference and production period. Warranty information, archive material or service history may support the configuration.
A dial can be genuine to the brand yet still be a later replacement or incorrect for that watch.
What condition issues affect a dial?
Moisture, spotting, scratches, refinishing, reluming and printing damage can matter more than the base colour. On vintage pieces, stable age-consistent change may be viewed differently from artificial ageing or repair.
Photograph the dial straight-on and at an angle in soft light without filters or colour correction.
How should I compare dial variants?
Use the complete reference, size, metal, bezel, bracelet and production period. Compare relevant completed-market evidence rather than the highest advertised example.
A buyer will then apply the individual watch’s originality, condition and completeness to the current demand for that dial.
